Hello, it seems like this is the first technical topic on this board, right? I just saw again the video with Morihiro Sensei showing many Munadori technics. I recognized that sometimes Alessandro Sensei is attacking in aihanmi, sometime gyakuhanmi. Nowadays I am used to train munadoi only in gyakuhanmi. If my memory is correct also in 1998-2001 under Morihiro Sensei we always did munadori only gyakuhanmi. But maybe I am wrong or it is just the typical parts that one misses when not having a long term regular training in Iwama. Maybe persons like Tristao Sensei or Alessandro Sensei or people who trained under Morihiro Sensei in the 80's and 90's, or long term sotodeshi from Iwama can answer the following questions: Did Morihiro Sensei explain and distinguish when to attack Munadori in aihanmi and when in gyakuhanmi? When did he change to only gyakuhanmi attack? Did he explain why? Did Hitohira Sensei ever talk about this matter? Hope the question is interesting enough to answer... Volker
